Introduction

Our clients experience 40% - 90% lighting energy savings by replacing their current fluorescent tubes, incandescent lights, halogen lights, etc with the highly efficient LED replacements.

Below is a list of areas that you will save time and money while having a positive impact on the environment.

Energy Savings

LED lights are highly efficient, generate very little heat, require no starter or ballast, and last 50,000 hrs - 100,000 hrs. Their higher purchase cost is offset by the low energy demand over their long service life. Also, because LED lights are directional (light is at the point of need) there is no wasted light (nor energy) in other directions. There is also no warm-up phase that traditional fluorescent tubes require. As energy costs rise each year your business will realize a greater savings in years to come.

Maintenance Savings

Because LEDs last for 50,000 - 100,000 hours; there is no need for the maintenance cycle of replacing bulbs for up to 10 years or more. Your maintenance crew will no longer have to endanger themselves climbing ladders to service or replace the light or ballasts. Also, there is no longer a need to clean the reflective surfaces inside the fixtures. These reflectors get very dusty and must be cleaned or the light will not reflect back down; thus creating further inefficiencies).

Tax Incentives and Rebates

The Federal Government provides tax incentives such as the Environmental Protection Act of 2005 EPACT179D which offers up to $0.60 sq. ft. tax deduction for lighting efficiencies.  By improving lighting power density (LPD) by 40% from ASHRAE 90.1.2001 will qualify for the full $0.60 per sq. ft.  Lower improvements provide lower incentives.

Check your utility company for rebates for LED lighting.  If LED is not called out you may ask about applying for their prescriptive programs for energy saving incentives.  For more information check http://www.dsireusa.org/ . Note that this may not have the most up to date information since some power companies are not as aggressive with LED.  For Example; AEP (American Electric Power) has a $15 rebate for IndustryLED's WhiteRhino Series T8 G2 EPS fluorescent tube replacement while Duke energy has yet to address LED tube replacements. Although you may qualify for up to 50% of project cost through Duke's Smart Saver Custom Incentive Program.
